It is with regret that, after 10 years, Quidnames can no longer provide inexpensive domain name registrations. Changes in taxation and insurance, along with abuse of our DNS and email forwarding services recently by a small number of people, means that we can no longer reliably and profitably provide our services to the majority of our customers. We are therefore winding down our services with immediate effect. Do I need to panic? Will you accept any new registrations? Will you accept renewals? Will you still inform me when my domain is up for renewal? Can I still manage my existing domains? Can I still use email forwarding? Can I still use web redirection/forwarding I have over 50 domains with you. Transfer will be a nightmare! How do I transfer my domain to another provider? What if I have problems? No. We will help each and every customer move their domains to a new provider in an orderly fashion. By sticking to the rules outlined below this can be done quickly and painlessly. Will you accept any new registrations? No. Please register your new domains with another provider. We will be accepting renewals for all domains up to 30 September 2009. This is because it is sometimes difficult to transfer a domain so close to its renewal date. For domains up for renewal from 1st October 2009, we strongly recommend that you transfer your domains as soon as possible before renewal notices are issued. That way, your domain can be in it’s new home before renewals are issued. Will you still inform me when my domain is up for renewal? If it is still hosted with us, then yes, we will. We will be unable to accept payment for renewal after 30 September 2009. We will instead send a notification with information on how to transfer your domain to another provider. Can I still manage my existing domains? Yes. You can continue to manage that domain via our management console by clicking here. You can keep your domain with us up until the time of renewal, after which you will need to move it to an alternative provider. All DNS services will remain until you move your domain Can I still use email forwarding? Email forwarding will be switched off for all domains on 30 September 2009.
